After a long hiatus, the Brown Note has come crashing back onto the Iowa City music scene with a passion. The lineup is simple -- guitar and drums -- but the sound is big, full of head-bobbing indie-rock riffs, hypnotic guitar delay, basement show vocals, and hyper-kinetic drumming. Petit Mal plays as well, showcasing their exquisite knack for undeniable pop hooks and noisy guitars.
